VISIT TO NEPÈTA HOUSE
During the visit you can:
– disconnect from the city routine by immersing yourself in the real Sicilian countryside, enjoying a breathtaking view of the Hyblean landscape and some clean air!
– touch and smell all our organic botanicals with which we produce our liqueurs
– visit our laboratory and attend a brief explanation on how the liqueurs are produced
– admire the work that Loste, one of the greatest Italian street artists, has left on our walls

VISIT TO THE NEPETA LIQUEUR FACTORY WITH AMARI TASTING AND WALK
Botanical walk; Amari production process; tasting of bitters and botanical cocktails. Once you arrive at our liquor factory in Testa dell'Acqua, you can immerse yourself in our field where we organically grow various aromatic herbs typical of the Iblean territory, and in particular you will get to know the Nepitella with which we produce our Nepèta, the Marjoram with which we make Majora and the shrub Thyme with which we prepare Timous (our sugar-free Amaro!).
We will explain the properties of these plants and you can collect them, smell them, take them with you (30 minutes). We will then enter inside our liquor factory where you can admire the mural left on all our internal walls by the famous street artist Loste (who created the mural in Palermo by Falcone and Borsellino). You will learn about the production process of our bitters and finally you will finally be able to taste our liqueurs neat, on ice or in delicious botanical cocktails! (40 minutes).
We are located 30 minutes from Syracuse and 15 minutes from Noto and 15 minutes from Palazzolo Acreide. About 1 hour and 20 minutes from Catania.

Well yes, our areas are rich in precious nuggets, from biancatto to black truffles! ONLY BY RESERVATION, you can spend a couple of hours with our expert truffle hunter Andrea and his lagotti Maya and Jeena and collect the precious tubers with your own hands! A unique experience, to try once in a lifetime! Afterwards, you can relax in our farmhouse while sipping an ice-cold Nepeta Spritz!
WATER HEAD TOUR, MAT MUSEUM AND NEPETA HOUSE
The Mat-Nepeta tour takes place in the village of Testa dell'Acqua, a picturesque location that has gained recognition as one of the locations used for filming the famous TV series “White Lotus”. The tour we propose will take you to discover an uncontaminated place that combines archaeology, history, nature and artisanal products.
The Tour begins at the MAT, Anthropological Museum of Testa dell'Acqua, where you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of the place. Visit the main room with an experiential and immersive tour to discover the traditions and prepare for a virtual reality journey to discover the majara, the healer who cured with herbs and magical words.
Continue the visit of the museum outside, You will be guided by an expert archaeologist who will lead you to discover the ancient rock caves present within the museum space, and you will learn more about the life and habits of the people who inhabited these caves centuries ago. Ready to try lighting a fire with the techniques used in medieval times or identify and recognize the engravings on the rock walls?
During the nature walk you can also collect aromatic and medicinal herbs and discover their uses. The museum tour will end with a visit to the aquaponic greenhouse, where agriculture and aquaculture come together in a sustainable system.
On request it is possible to conclude the visit to the MAT museum with a cooking class on forgotten recipes. Involve all your senses and discover and create, together with the MAT museum team, ancient local recipes, discover the ingredients and stories of each recipe and together we will take a journey back in time through the flavors of this land.
This will be followed by a visit to the Amari Nepeta company, where we will take you on a sensorial journey to discover the aromatic herbs that give life to these delicious liqueurs. During this experience, you will immerse yourself in the enchanting aromas of nepetella, marjoram and thyme, which are essential for the creation of these delicious liqueurs. You will be involved in the production process, you will test the bitters to discover secrets and curiosities of this fascinating world. It will be an unforgettable experience for all fans of aromatic herbs and artisanal liqueurs.
Botanical impression experience
Participants in the experience will create their own botanical impression with their own hands, on paper or fabric. It is open to all levels, all it takes is a little amazement towards nature, then the whole creative process arises spontaneously. ONLY BY RESERVATION
We will collect leaves and plants together, Sicily is rich in diversity! And we will print them using the monotype technique. You will learn how the intaglio press works, and also how to print by hand with contact printing.
The proposal consists of creating a small fabric tapestry to hang on the wall with a wooden stick, to frame or simply to place to decorate a table with a vase of flowers on it. Printing on paper is also very interesting, for a more botanical result. We will do several tests that you will take home with you as a precious memory. As Shakespeare said “a touch of nature makes the whole world kindred”
